Plans for Lisa & Robert Maloff Athletic Facility at Whittell High School to be unveiled

The public is invited to see the proposed plans for the new athletic facility for Whittell High School at the Lake Tahoe Visitor's Center on Tuesday, December 12 at 3:30 p.m. during a meeting of the Douglas County School Board.

Lisa Maloff donated $3 million to put in a new football field, six-lane track and new concession building at the high school on Warrior Way in Zephyr Cove, Nev.

Plans created by RO Anderson Engineering will be unveiled during a presentation at the board meeting.

In July, Maloff made a $2.5 million donation to Douglas County Schools. When estimated building costs exceeded that, she added an additional $500,000.

This latest donation followed over $15 million Mrs. Maloff has given to the community:

>$10 million to Barton Health for the building of the Robert Maloff Center of Excellence
$5 million to Lake Tahoe Community College for the building of the Robert Maloff University Center.

She also donated money to buy South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Ricci, and enough funds to cover his training, a new K9 vehicle, veterinary bills, food, maintenance and continued K9 handler training for a year. She also added a bullet-proof vest for Ricci.
