Caroling, Santa, food and museum tours all part of Holiday in History

A special holiday treat in South Lake Tahoe will be held on Saturday, December 19 when the public can enjoy the lighted Christmas truck, Santa and Mrs. Claus, latkes and cookies, carolers and tours of the decorated museum and cabin during the Holiday in History Open House.

The annual Lake Tahoe Historical Society event will be held at the museum located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Victorian Christmas scene is spread throughout the museum and the historic cabin.

Schedule:

- Free museum and 1930 cabin tours all day.
- Children can call the North Pole from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a special phone.
- At 5 p.m. there will be a tree lighting and Menorah lighting and the South Lake Tahoe Children's Choral Society will be on hand to entertain everyone with carolers.
- From 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., the decorated South Lake Tahoe fire truck will be parked in front for kids of all ages to enjoy.
- Starting at 5:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Senior Center next door along with hot cider and cookies.

The museum's bookstore is a great place to do holiday shopping and you'll receive a free giant snowflake with all purchases $25 or above.
