Day One of SnowGlobe: Excited music fans, very few complaints

There is snow on the ground and a chill in the air, perfect conditions for the thousands of music fans in South Lake Tahoe for SnowGlobe 2015.

Lines of young men and women, some dressed in costume or wearing wild hats, eagerly awaited the begin of the three day music festival. Anticipation had been growing for weeks as the social media hype was on.

SnowGlobe had an active presence across the board with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat pages.. Those coming to the event have been sharing videos of their trip to Tahoe on Snapchat and Twitter as well as using the popular snapchat stories to show their their arrival at the festival.

There is also now a SnowGlobe app available for smart phones, showing show times, artist highlights, ticket sales and other information. What wasn't shown on the app or other event information for Tuesday night were the 10 p.m. fireworks, a surprise for many.

As fans entered the gates when they opened Tuesday, temperatures were in the low 30s, but as things wrapped up, they had dropped to 17 degrees. Jackets, hats, gloves and snow boots were smartly the popular attire.

The food stand area had the popular Pad Thai, How Ya Bean Coffee, Peace Love Tacos, Magoo's Pizza and Moe's Original BBQ, and tents were stocked with alcohol for the above 21 crowd.

South Lake Tahoe City Mananger Nancy Kerry said they'd received two complaints Tuesday, one on the hotline dedicated for SnowGlobe, and the other in an email. The City has sound monitors in place in nearby neighborhoods to make sure sounds decibels are kept at, or below, the maximum allowed.

Parking appeared to be an issue on day one, with people trying to get as close as possible. Neighborhoods close to the event venue, Lake Tahoe Community College, had "no parking" signage put up to prevent concert goers from overtaking the areas. Buses transporting people to and from the concert had a non-stop route from Stateline to the college, while many chose to walk to the event along Highway 50, Pioneer Trail and Johnson Boulevard.

Day Two of SnowGlobe is on Wednesday with music on the main stage starting at 4:00 p.m., in Sierra Tent at 2:15 p.m. and in the Igloo at 3:30 p.m. The main stage goes until 10 p.m., Sierra until 11:00 p.m. and Igloo until 11:30 p.m.
