DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - On Thursday, July 25 the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) responded to the Johnson Lane area of Minden at 10:15 p.m. after being dispatched to a reported shooting. A man had allegedly shot a firearm at his roommates. No one was injured in the shooting and the roommates were able to get to safety.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Officers with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department were honored Thursday for their roles in the apprehension of a triple-homicide suspect on April 26, 2019.

The suspect allegedly wanted to kill more victims at South Lake Tahoe's Heavenly Village, making the officers' heroic actions that night even more important to the public's safety, according to SLTPD Chief Brian Uhler.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Paul Hollingsworth, a 60-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident, has been arrested after confessing to a family member that he killed his live-in girlfriend.

A pursuit of a stolen 2017 Chevy Pickup began on Highway 50 near Riverton and ended near Sly Park Wednesday, leading to the arrest of two men, one for attempted murder of an officer.

The Placerville California Highway Patrol (CHP) attempted to pull over the truck driven by Cesar Ramos, 26, of Hollister, Calif. at Riverton. Instead of stopping, Ramos sped away in the westbound direction at speeds of 90-110 mph.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF -A transient man is behind bars this evening after allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old man at the South Y Transit center.

At 5:33 p.m. Saturday, officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) responded to a call of a stabbing at the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Emerald Bay Road.

Upon arrival they found Kiefer Chriss, 57, being held down on the ground by some Good Samaritans and a 27-year-old male stabbing victim.

One by one detectives from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department have been rounding up all six suspects wanted for the brutal November 11, 2016 murder of Jeffrey Quinn Settler, 35, a commercial marijuana grower.

Law enforcement and police dogs have been searching an area near the Tahoe Keys for a knife used in last week's attempted murder of a South Lake Tahoe woman.

Thomas Payne is accused of cutting his wife's throat with a large knife on October 16. He took off after the incident and returned to the scene several hours later. The knife used in the attack has not been found.

Payne's wife was taken to the hospital with life threatening injures and he was arrested on October 17 for attempted murder.

A South Lake Tahoe woman is recovering in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for a stab wound to the neck Wednesday night.

Thomas Payne, 36, also of South Lake Tahoe, was arrested Thursday afternoon for attempted murder after the victim identified him as the perpetrator of the domestic violence.

A man wanted by El Dorado County authorities in connection with a kidnapping and attempted murder was arrested Tuesday after deputies chased him for 23 minutes over 16 miles.
Dustin James Woodruff, born July 29, 1985, is suspected of shooting and beating Bryan Santana, 35, of Placerville on July 2, 2012, said El Dorado County Lt. Tim Becker in a news release.

A South Lake Tahoe man faces an attempted murder charge and two others are being sought in what authorities said was a gang-related shooting in June that involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
On Friday, authorities obtained a warrant and arrested Cesar Caro, 19, at his South Lake Tahoe home. He faces charges of attempted murder in the June 27 incident. His bail was set at $150,000.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department released more information involving Sunday night's shooting in which a 19-year-old man was injured from multiple gunshot wounds. Police are still looking for the suspect.

More details have emerged from the early Sunday morning shooting at Whiskey Dick's Saloon in South Lake Tahoe in which a shot was fired inside the bar.
