Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Pamela's Pilates

Pamela’s Pilates will celebrate their recent expansion with a grand reopening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, January 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to test the studio's newest Pilates equipment while enjoying music from Incline Village’s Paul David and the Drivers, and food provided by the Simple Bliss Vegan Cafe.

There will be exclusive packages available to those in attendance as well as instruction on Stott Pilates, meet the studio's instructors Pamela and

South Lake Tahoe was voted the Best Ski Destination in a highly contested USA Today reader ski poll conducted over the past four weeks.

Citing the beautiful views and fantastic skiing, voters were able to choose their favorite ski destination daily. Sun Valley, Idaho came in second with North Lake Tahoe in third, which shows everyone how popular Lake Tahoe skiing is as a whole.

The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Winter Wine Walk BAHM on Thursday, December 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Shops at Heavenly Village.

The walk starts at the Marriott Grand Residence where participants will receive a passport with a list of all businesses participating, a wristband, wine glass and raffle tickets. Participating businesses will then stamp the passport and pour a taste of El Dorado County wines as well as showcasing their store. Free ice skating voucher good for the whole evening.

El Dorado to step up enforcement on out-of-county roadside vendors

Capitalizing on residents’ need for strawberries for tonight’s dessert, or those last minute anniversary flowers, roadside vendors are seemingly everywhere. But, who is that guy on the corner?

“We are seeing an influx of vendors from outside of the county,” said El Dorado County Agriculture Commissioner Charlene Carveth. “In most instances, roadside dealers are not selling produce that is locally grown, or in compliance with basic local and state food safety requirements.”

Timothy Cashman named Tahoe Fund board chairman

The Tahoe Fund, the first and only nonprofit in the Tahoe Basin dedicated to raising money for environmental improvement projects, announced Wednesday the appointment of Timothy Cashman as chair of the board of directors.

TRPA director named Public Servant of the Year by North Lake Tahoe Association

Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Executive Director, Joanne S. Marchetta, was named Public Servant of the Year earlier this week at the 59th annual Community Awards dinner hosted by the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and Chamber of Commerce.

“I just carry the baton, I carry it for all of you,” she told the audience upon receiving the award to a standing ovation Wednesday night at the Ritz-Carlton, Northstar, California.

South Tahoe Chamber to host a business mixer

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce will hold a business mixer on Thursday, March 21. Borges Chiropractic and Tahoe Valley Pharmacy will host the event, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Tahoe Valley Pharmacy center, 2074 Lake Tahoe Blvd. (across from Staples near the “Y”).

The event is open to chamber members as well as the public and is free.

There will be food and prizes, including a pair of sunglasses valued at $160 donated by Lake Tahoe Eye Care. Other sponsors for donations include Tahoe Valley Pharmacy, Borges Chiropractic and Ross Groelz, DDS.

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Christmas tree permits are sold out but tree cutting permits remain available on BLM lands in the Pinenut Mountains between Carson City and Yerington, the Clan Alpine and Desatoya mountains east of Fallon, and the Excelsior Mountains southeast of Hawthorne.

Recommendations Regarding 'Economic Revitalization' for South Shore Lake Tahoe

After attending the State of the South Shore Economy Public Forum held on October 23rd, 2012 I was inspired to draft a response to the questions about economic revitalization that were asked at the meeting. I feel like our group had many salient ideas that were not properly represented. Also, I have noticed that people are quick to offer ideas like “reduce unemployment”, “beautify the city”, and “improve recreation”, but they are typically unable to offer suggestions on how to make those ideas a reality.

Lake Tahoe launches public participation campaign for new vision

The North and South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce leaders at Lake Tahoe have joined together to launch a Region-wide public participation campaign to harness the groundswell of support for a new vision to restore and revitalize the Basin. Called TahoeFuture.org, the campaign will focus, over the next 8 months, on two critical land-use and transportation plans that create a blueprint for a revitalized Lake Tahoe.

Golden Bear Events presents the inaugural 4th of July Parade in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to noon down Highway 50.

Opinion: South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce: Vote NO on Measure B

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce opposes the increase in taxes for business owners.
Measure B proposes assessing greater fees based on the number of employees and gross receipts without the perspective of costs. To tax on gross without allowances for costs is not a “fair tax.”

Children’s Book Drive to Benefit Kids in South Lake Tahoe

The South Lake Tahoe Children’s Book Drive a group project through the Leadership Lake Tahoe Program will be commencing on March 1st and continuing through April 1st 2012.
