Auditions set for LTCC production of "Death of a Salesman"

If you fit one or more these categories there may be a role waiting for you: man, woman, young, old.

The Theatre Arts Department at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is looking for people to fill roles for their upcoming production of Arthur Miller's classic American drama Death of a Salesman. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. in LTCC’s Duke Theatre, inside the Fine Arts building on campus. Performances of the play will take place November 13-22, 2015.

Lake Tahoe Dance Connection holds 2nd Annual Summer Dance Experience

Lake Tahoe Dance Connection (LTDC) brings in professional dancers and choreographers for a weekend of dance, top instruction and fun at Lake Tahoe Community College.

The second annual Lake Tahoe Dance Connection will consist of a camp, August 12 – 14, and a Dance Intensive Weekend, August 15-16.

For the full summer dance experience, it is recommended that you enroll in both the Dance Camp and Intensive Weekend; however, registration is available for just one class, one day or either event. LTDC is open to a variety of age groups and levels, although dance experience is necessary.

Rock the Night Away at LTCC benefit concert

Every quarter, the Lake Tahoe Community College Music Department puts on a final exam that truly rocks. Traditionally, Rock Ensemble students studying with teacher and professional musician Eric Hellberg stage a concert to earn their final grades.

This Spring, students in LTCC’s New Wave Music and Beginning Rock Ensemble classes will be rocking for an even higher purpose: their final exams will also serve as a benefit concert to support a fellow rocker in need.

Broadway hit musical Pippin featured on LTCC stage

The high-energy, smash hit and award-winning musical Pippin will be on the Lake Tahoe Community College Duke Theater stage June 12 through the 20th.

The school's Theatre Arts Department presents show with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz who was the composer of the hit Broadway musicals Wicked and Godspell.

Free showing of documentary at Lake Tahoe Community College

Students, parents, educators, and the entire South Shore community are invited to a free screening of the documentary film 'First Generation' at Lake Tahoe Community College’s Duke Theatre on Friday, April 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The film tells the stories of four California high school students who are trying to break out of the cycle of poverty they’re in by pursuing a college education.

"Last Days of Judas Iscariot" Coming to the Duke Theater at LTCC

The world’s most infamous betrayer gets his day in court at Lake Tahoe Community College this March. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, a searingly funny, adult, and thought-provoking play by Stephen Adly Guirgis, will be presented in LTCC’s Duke Theatre March 13-22. Set in a time-bending, darkly comic world between Heaven and Hell, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot reexamines the plight and fate of perhaps the New Testament’s most misunderstood and unexplained sinner.

The Lake Tahoe Community College Chorus and Tahoe Choir are proud to present songs that our forefathers used to sing - beginning with Appalachian tunes like "Lord of the Dance", and those brought from other lands, like "Drunken Sailor" and "Hava Naghila" to traditional prairie tunes of 19th century, like "Red River Valley". The concert will culminate with a beautiful selection of Spirituals, like "Jericho", "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", "The Gospel Train", and others.

Auditions for hit musical Pippin being held at LTCC

Actors, singers and dancers of all ages are needed for the Lake Tahoe Community College production of the award winning musical Pippin. Gymnasts, jugglers, acrobats, aerialists are also being sought.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, February 17 at the college's Duke Theater. Actors are required to sing selections from Pippin for the audition. Actors and crew sought for LTCC play "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot"

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is the next play being put on by the Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Theatre Arts Department and they will soon be holding auditions.

There are a wide variety of roles available for men and women. Auditions are Tuesday, January 6 at 7 p.m. in LTCC’s Duke Theatre. Performances will be March 13 through 22, 2015.

LTCC receives $5 million donation from local woman to build a University Center

A historic donation was made to the Lake Tahoe Community College today, enabling the school to build the Robert Maloff University Center on campus in preparation for offering four year degrees. LTCC has applied to be part of a state pilot program that will bring in baccalaureate degrees to 15 community colleges, beginning with at least one program at each school.

Comedy "Leading Ladies" hits the LTCC stage in November

They call it a mixture of Monty Python, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Some Like it Hot. The comedy farce, Leading Ladies, is being presented by the Theatre Arts Department at Lake Tahoe Community College November 14 through November 23 at the Duke Theatre on campus.

I’ve lived in South Lake Tahoe for 22 years, and I’m the Dean of Career & Technical Education and Instruction at Lake Tahoe Community College. A Trio of Art Exhibits and Opening Receptions Coming to LTCC

How does a community deal with and recover from a tragedy that shocked the entire world? This November, the Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Theatre Arts Department will explore that question in its production of “The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later,” by Moisés Kaufman, Stephen Belber, Leigh Fondakowski, and Greg Pierotti. The play seeks to understand a town that is forced to cope with the aftermath of a brutal hate crime, while also facing their own biases and fears under the media spotlight.

The Lake Tahoe Community College Theatre Arts Department will be holding auditions for its fall theatre production of “The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later” on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in the college’s Duke Theatre.

This production commemorates the 15th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death. Several events will be presented at the college in association with this production, including a screening of the brand new documentary film, “Matthew Shepard is a Friend of Mine.”
