December 24 - City offces are closed. Recreation Center and pool close at 1:30 p.m.
December 25 - All are closed
December 26 - Normal business hours. Pool is open 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and there is no H2O class.
December 31 - Normal business hours. Recreation Center and pool close at 1:30 p.m.
January 1, 2019 - All are closed.

Vail Resorts gives $1.9M to 93 Tahoe-Truckee area nonprofits

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - During their annual community grant EpicPromise celebration, 93 local nonprofits were awarded a total of $1.9 million in cash as well as additional in-kind product support. Across the company, Vail Resorts will give $11.4 million in support to more than 250 community non-profits over the upcoming year.
Each year Vail gives away money and product to groups serving the communities they have resorts located. For Kirkwood, Heavenly and Northstar, support was given to support the health and resilience of the Truckee and South Lake Tahoe communities.

Blood Drive in South Lake Tahoe Friday

If you missed donating blood at the fire station on Monday there is another chance on Friday, November 30. There will be a South Lake Tahoe Community Blood Drive from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the recreation center gym.
There is a need for blood after 500 blood drives were canceled in Northern California due to smoke from the recent Camp Fire.
Prior registration is not required.
The South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Good Morning Lake Tahoe Skiers & Riders…
We survived the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend and resorts that remain open this week and for the season continue to make snow and spin lifts. Kirkwood has scheduled Chair #6 – Cornice Express to offer top to bottom skiing & riding. Mammoth Mtn. & Mt Rose also open top to bottom. More snow predicted to come through with a Winter Storm Watch starting Wednesday.
Today’s Weather: Expect Partly Cloudy Skies. Highs: 46F-51F (-10F@8000 ft.). Light Winds.
