Good Morning Lake Tahoe Skiers & Riders…

Freshies Galore! The Day the Locals take back their mountains… Winds are impacting operation of upper mountain lifts, so lifts will operate Wind & Weather Permitting this morning… Wind Holds reported at some resorts this morning and some resorts opting not to open… Lift operations will change thru out the day as this weather system moves east. Road Controls posted for all Highways in and around Lake Tahoe… Carry tire chains and drive with care. Get After it! Have Fun & Be Safe!

TODAY’S WEATHER: Expect Mostly Cloudy Skies with a chance of showers. Snow level rising to 6500 ft. Highs: 35F-40F. (25F-30F on the Slopes) Southwest Winds 15-25 mph. Gusts up to 60 mph, decreasing to 35 mph in the afternoon. Ridge Gusts up to 95 mph, decreasing to 70 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Lows: 22F-32F. South Winds 10-15 mph. Ridge Gusts up to 60 mph in the evening.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress warm, layers with your Gore-Tex Jacket or Shell. Take warm gloves, a hat or beanie, and wear a Helmet for Safety. Might want to take along a face gaiter or scarf. Also wear good Sunglasses or Goggles. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen (when the sun is out) & stay hydrated at altitude!

SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Fresh Powder with Machine Groomed & Skier-Rider Packed & Tracked Powder. Watch for marked & unmarked obstacles.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Respect all rope lines & area closures. Ski or Ride with a Buddy if you decide to go Off Piste – Trees on opened trails. Keep an eye out for marked and unmarked obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting downhill.
