STATELINE, Nev. - Expect delays on the Carson Valley side of Kingsbury Grade/SR 207 starting Monday, June 3 as Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) crews fill roadway cracking.

Single lane closures will take place from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through approximately June 14 between Tramway Drive and Foothill Road. Motorists are advised to give extra travel time and to anticipate travel delays of up to 15 minutes as traffic flaggers and pilot cars alternate directions of travel.

The road work schedule is subject to change.

The next phase of the Highway 50 South Shore Community Revitalization Project (SSCRP) begins with an open house on its Main Street Management Plan on Wednesday, May 29 at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) office from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to drop in any time.

SSCRP, commonly referred to as the Loop Road Project, will include seven more key components to be completed by the TRPA and Tahoe Transportation District (TTD). The first of those components is the Main Street Management Plan.

STATELINE, Nev. - Over the weekend eight vehicles were burglarized in the Lake Tahoe area of Douglas County.

From Friday, May 17 to Monday, May 20, the burglaries appear to be random. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) is actively investigating each incident.

"The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public, do not leave anything of value in your motor vehicles when parked in public parking lots, trailheads and Tahoe Beach access points along Hwy 50," said DCSO Undersheriff Ron Elges.

STATELINE, Nev. - There was an altercation between two members of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners on Thursday, May 16 at a meeting in Stateline at Lake Tahoe.

The incident happened at around 5:55 p.m. and involved two board members, Commissioner Chairman Barry Penzel and Commissioner John Engels.

According to a Douglas County Undersheriff Ron Elges, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the commissioners meeting at Stateline for a heated argument. A few minutes later an altercation broke out. Both parties were separated on their own, only minor injuries were reported.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County Sheriff's Office responds to calls throughout the county. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Officers with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department were honored Thursday for their roles in the apprehension of a triple-homicide suspect on April 26, 2019.

The suspect allegedly wanted to kill more victims at South Lake Tahoe's Heavenly Village, making the officers' heroic actions that night even more important to the public's safety, according to SLTPD Chief Brian Uhler.

Father John Grace, former pastor of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in South Lake Tahoe, passed away on May 4, 2019, at the age of 98. Father Grace had injured himself in a fall while on a walk near his Al Tahoe residence a few days before his death.

He was born September 18, 1920, to John and Cecilia Grace in the small coal-mining village of The Commons, County Tipperary, Ireland. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Catherine (“Rena”) and Maureen. At the time of his death, Father Grace was the oldest priest in the Diocese of Sacramento.

STATELINE, Nevada – The Sustainable Destinations Top 100 program recognized Lake Tahoe as a global sustainable destination at a tourism trade show in Berlin, Germany this spring.

STATELINE, Nevada - Casinos on both the north and south ends Lake Tahoe saw a gain in revenue in March 2019 according to figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control board.

Revenue on the South Shore was $15,913,477, up 9.16 percent from the same month a year ago when revenue was $14,577,529. On the North Shore, their reported revenue of $2,085,064 was up 2.2 percent from March 2018.

Statewide, the revenues reported by casinos was $1,022,974,672, down .12 percent from last year.

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

Active shooter events most commonly occur in businesses - 45 percent, schools - 25 percent, and government facilities - 10 percent.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE - The fifth concert of the summer has been announced for the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, Nev.

Country superstar Tim McGraw will head to the South Shore on Friday, June 14, 2019 for an 8:00 p.m. concert.

McGraw has 43 number one radio singles, 16 number one albums and countless industry awards and accolades. His last solo project spawned one of the biggest hit singles of all-time, “Humble and Kind,” whose message continues to impact fans around the world.

STATELINE, Nev. – With the recently approved U.S. 50 South Shore Community Revitalization Project in South Lake Tahoe (also known as the Loop Road), three people are being sought to become a working group that will help develop a Main Street Management Plan for the area.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There's no question, South Lake Tahoe needs more public parking areas in town, especially near Stateline and the Heavenly Village.

During last week's City Council meeting, Police Chief Brian Uhler made a presentation with his ideas for adding 57 new parking spots around the village utilizing the surplus kiosks the city has on hand.
