Outdoor screening of Smog of the Sea in South Lake Tahoe

Join the League to Save Lake Tahoe on June 16 as they show the Tahoe premiere of The Smog of the Sea, a new documentary featuring a seafaring expedition of citizen science and discovery that delves into one of the modern threats to the world’s oceans: plastics.

This will be a special outdoor screening event at the Base Camp Hotel on Cedar Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, Featured i. an in-person appearance by marine scientist Marcus Eriksen, one of the film’s featured adventurers. In the film, Eriksen joins musician Jack Johnson and group of surfers and outdoor athletes on a research journey aboard a 167 foot tall schooner. Also showing a Keep Tahoe Blue short and another environmental mini-doc.

Proceeds benefit 5 Gyres and the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show to begin at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
