Vintage Tahoe Clothing Co. opens seasonal store with rustic decor, gifts and more

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There's a brand new shop in town that offers an original brand, Vintage Tahoe Clothing Co., as well as a full selection of rustic decor, backpacks, caps and gifts.

You can call it a crossover store with "one of a kind" vintage garden art and "one of a kind" vintage home decor, and don't forget the quality branded apparel! There is something for everyone inside (and outside) the doors.

Vintage Tahoe's new shop is the summer replacement for Rock House Ski Shop on Ski Run Blvd.

Kathy Glaeser and Bill Conradi are co-owners of this unique shop. Kathy has been in the apparel business for 25 years and Bill has a screen printing business in Auburn. They have worked together in the past with her apparel lines in the past, and now they continue that working collaborations at Vintage Tahoe. She had her apparel line in shops at Squaw Valley last year, and it was popular so she started looking for a shop to lease that carried just Vintage Clothing Co. items.

Kathy spent weekends and summers in South Lake Tahoe after her parents built a home in town over 50 years ago.

"I love Tahoe," she said.

When not in Tahoe, Kathy lives in Fairplay in a home on several acres, something she has decorated inside and out with items just like one can find in the store.

A few months ago she walked into Rock House and asked what they do with the space during the non-skiing season. They worked out a deal and the show is now open!

Currently they open Tuesday-Sunday at 10:00 a.m., but will start being open 7-days-a-week. They also have later hours on Fridays because of the nearby Farmer's Market. They close at 6:00 p.m. currently Tues/Wed/Thurs, 8:00 p.m. Fri/Sat and 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
