Volunteers Needed for Living History Day at Ehrman Mansion - Help Bring 1930s Lake Tahoe to Life

Event Date:
July 26, 2014 - 11:00am

The California State Parks and the Sierra State Parks Foundation will again be hosting Living History Day at Pine Lodge, a celebration of the anniversary of the lodge also known as the Ehrman Mansion, at Sugar Pine Point State Park on July 26, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Living history activities will include Open House tours, a children’s activity zone, an antique car show, the Eagle Wing Dancers, live music throughout the day and a historic wooden boats display. Refreshments will be available for purchase. All events are free, though please note that there is a $10 parking fee.

Organizers of the event are looking for members of the community to help put on this annual living history day presentation. Volunteers are needed to serve as greeters, parking attendants, facilities assistants, boathouse docents, crafters and raffle assistants. There are opportunities for all ages and volunteers are encouraged to wear costumes and play various historic roles, staff venues, and provide general event assistance. Whether you can donate an hour or help us all day, your help will make a difference and be greatly appreciated! All volunteers receive park access and a special reception at the end of the event.

"Volunteering at Living History Day is the highlight of my summer. I encourage everyone to join me this year helping out at this great event", said longtime volunteer Rosie Smith.

A mandatory volunteer orientation will be conducted on July 21st at 5:30pm at the Sugar Pine Point State Park Nature Center. Volunteers may contact the Sierra State Parks Foundation at 530.583.9911 for additional information. For information on Living History Day please visit www.laketahoelivinghistory.com.
