The Sextones at Dangberg Historic Park

Event Date:
June 29, 2017 - 6:30pm

Reno band The Sextones will perform funk and soul at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 29.

The Sextones is a family of music renegades known for viciously executed soul compositions and white-knuckle driving funk. Tipping their hats to the days of Tower of Power and Stevie Wonder, they are forging the path for a new generation of funk and soul.

Mark Sexton, who plays the guitar and sings vocals, is joined by bassist Alex Korostinsky, drummer Dan Weiss and keyboardist Ryan Taylor. The group has been playing in clubs and concert venues across the West, and this is their third year performing at the Dangberg Historic Park.

“This band is certainly a favorite with our concert attendees, so we couldn’t be happier that they are part of our Dangberg Summer Festival. It is not easy to stay in your seat when this group is on stage,” said the park’s events manager Kim Harris.

The concert is also funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Admission is $10 for adults, free for 16 and younger and $5 for members of Dangberg Home Ranch.

The park is located at 1450 Hwy 88, ¼ mile north of the Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. This is an outdoor event and visitors should bring their own seating. Dogs are not permitted at this event. More information is at dangberghomeranch.org.

Upcoming concerts at the park are Aurelia Chamber Players on July 20, Ten Dollar Pony on August 3 and Ciana on August 17. The full Dangberg Summer Festival schedule can be found on the park’s website.
