Storyteller and Musician Karla Huntsman at Dangberg Historic Park

Event Date:
August 26, 2015 - 6:30pm

Karla Huntsman will combine the art of storytelling with her talent as a musician, in a performance at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Wednesday August 26, at 6:30 pm. The event is open to the public and free to attend.

Making meaning through story and theater activities has been Karla Huntsman’s life work. Huntsman believes in the power of storytelling to infuse life, joy, connection with self, and connection with others no matter the age of the listener. She sings, plays guitar, autoharp, washboard and djembe drum as part of her storytelling performances.

The park’s storytelling events are sponsored by Bently Ranch, SoaringNV, Douglas County, the Record Courier, Carson Valley Inn and the Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation.

Karla Huntsman works as a professional storyteller and drama specialist and performs with the Las Vegas Improvisation Players. Before turning to freelance storytelling and drama specialist work, Huntsman spent over 25 years on the faculties of four universities teaching storytelling, drama education, public speaking, and interpersonal communication.

This is a free outdoor event. The park is located at 1450 Hwy 88, ¼ mile north of the Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or use one of the park’s chairs.
