Submitted by Editor on Fri, 01/13/2012 - 11:53am
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will host two public workshops to help orient customers to the reorganization of TRPA’s Code of Ordinances, which will go into effect on March 1, 2012.
These workshops are designed to help property owners considering home or building improvement projects, along with planners, consultants, contractors, and land-use attorneys. The workshops will take place as follows:
Thursday, Jan. 26
TRPA Conference Room
Main Office
128 Market Street
Stateline, Nev
Lower Kingsbury Grade
6 to 7:30 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 2
Don W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center
948 Incline Way
Incline Village
6 to 7:30 p.m.
Topics to be covered in the workshops include comparisons of the old and newly reorganized code, tips on how to quickly find what you need, and updates on the second phase substantive code changes in progress.
According to Paul Nielsen, the TRPA Planner leading up the code clean-up, “This first phase update of the TRPA Code of Ordinances is better organized, easier to follow, more efficient to administer and predictable to use,” he said. “These changes are the product of significant stakeholder input,” Nielsen explained. “They will have no negative environmental impacts nor will they change how projects are reviewed and permitted.”
Phase 2 of the Code Clean-up will include more fundamental updates to TRPA’s Code of Ordinances planned as part of the Regional Plan Update, which is scheduled for final action by the TRPA Governing Board at the end of 2012. The public can the view the updated Code of Ordinances going into effect in March at trpa.org.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency cooperatively leads the effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region now and in the future. For additional information, call Kristi Boosman at (775) 589-5230 or send an email to kboosman@trpa.org .
