South Tahoe High Students Rose Campion, Dillon Mlynsky and Sammy Doyle were invited to participate with last weekend's NorCal Honor Band at Sonoma State University.
After three days of rehearsals with Eric Hammer, Director of Bands at the University of Pacific, the band gave a concert in the new Weil Hall at SSU.
Campion won first chair trombone for the second year and received the prestigious Dan Heistand Memorial Scholarship which will be used towards her college music education. She traveled to Fresno this weekend to perform in the All-State Honor Orchestra where she will be the principal trombone.
