The Douglas County Sheriff’s Explorers just finished a week-long detail in Pebble Beach, California working the AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament to earn money for their POST.
Thirteen DCSO Explorers handled pedestrian control, traffic control and security details in and around the famous 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach. They saw golf professionals like Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh as well as amateurs like Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, Carson Daly and Larry The Cable Guy.
It is a great opportunity for the Explorers to work with the public and use the skills they have learned during their weekly training at the Sheriff’s Office.
The Explorers are made up of youth ages 14-21 who have an interest in law enforcement, military or developing leadership skills for their future. Anyone interested in making donations to this youth program can contact Deputy Teresa Duffy at the Sheriff’s Office 775-782-9941 for more information.
