Lake Tahoe Unified School District is holding a series of workshops for parents in the community where they can find support both personally and academically.
On Wednesday, March 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all parents are invited to attend the "Helping Parent s ADVANCE Workshop" in the South Tahoe High Student Union.
As the parents participate, there will be free childcare and free K-8 tutoring available, as well as free food, prizes and more.
"When schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning,
children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more,"
according to the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory.
