A South Lake Tahoe teen is in stable condition tonight after stabbing himself as officers arrived at his home in the 800 block of San Jose Avenue with a no bail warrant for his arrest.
At approximately 12:51 p.m. on March 9, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, El Dorado County Probation Department and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department arrived at the juvenile offender's home and asked the suspect to exit the residence.
After multiple requests, the juvenile suspect opened the front door and informed the officers he had a self-inflicted knife wound to the abdomen. Officers on scene immediately performed first aid until medical personnel arrived.
A Care Flight helicopter was originally called to transport the young man but was canceled and he was transported by ambulance to Barton Hospital.
No other details have been released by law enforcement.
