Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe in need of a new truck

The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) is need of a truck after a recent crash on Johnson Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe totaled their 2002 Chevy. This truck was vital to the club's transportation needs and insurance will not cover replacement.
Nobody was hurt in the collision.
During the school-year, the truck is used to transport food to and from the club's satellite site, Bijou Elementary School, as well as donations that the community provides.
During the summer, the truck is used to transport children, kayaks, paddleboards, backpacking gear, event equipment, and lunch for beach trips. The truck was also all-wheel-drive which was essential this winter.
"Without this truck, BGCLT is without the ability to bring fun, enriching, and outdoor programs to the Club for school breaks and summer," said Kili Ongoy, the club's Development Coordinator.
"The truck was worth its weight in gold to us but it had no value in monetary terms, and after paying the deductible we won’t get enough back to fully cover a replacement," said Jude Wood, BGCLT Executive Director.
Ongoy is asking the community if anyone has a running all-wheel drive truck that could be donated to BGCLT.
"The Boys & Girls Club will gladly take a safe and running truck of your hands with an exchange of a tax donation," said Ongoy.
If you have any questions about what BGCLT is looking for, please give them a call at 530-542-0838 to speak with Kili Ongoy.
