Two South Lake Tahoe men were arrested Monday night on charges of robbery and conspiracy after attempting to steal four-12 packs of beer from a local grocery store.
South Lake Tahoe police officers responded to a call from the Safeway on Lake Tahoe Blvd. at 11:02 p.m. on March 14, 2016 after a physical altercation occurred when two store employees and two citizens tried to stop 19-year-old Jose Rodriguez and 18-year-old Jose Romero as they allegedly attempted to leave the store with the beer without paying.
Officers arrived shortly after the altercation and arrested the pair on felony robbery and conspiracy charges.
As of Tuesday evening, both Rodriquez and Romero remain in the El Dorado County Jail on $100,000 bail hold each.
