A Napa man was hoisted out of the Kyburz area on Friday after falling about 30 feet from a rock formation while climbing.
The H20 helicopter from the California Highway Patrol responded due to the remote location and they were assisted by the El Dorado County Fire Protection District and CAL FIRE personnel who treated the patient and prepared him for extraction.
The 52-year-old man was then transported to Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe for the treatment of major injuries.

"We greatly appreciate the teamwork between multiple agencies to expedite the transport of injured people to the appropriate care centers," said a CHP spokesperson on Facebook.
