There's only a few more hours to register to volunteer for the 19th Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup Event at California State Parks on on Saturday, April 22. The closest opportunity for those in the Lake Tahoe area is at Grover Hot Springs.
From 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers will be doing maintenance and development of the Native Plant Demonstration Garden, weed removal and landscaping at the park in Markleville, 30 miles south of South Lake Tahoe.
Volunteering for Earth Day is a great way to do something meaningful for our planet and our community. 65 people are needed for the Grover Hot Springs projects.
Registration is required and can be done here: www.calparks.org/help/earth-day/. All parks are listed there, select the one you wish to work at.
Sign-in at Grover Hot Springs starts at 8:30 a.m.
