A Shingle Springs man was arrested Friday on suspicion of elder abuse after deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a verbal dispute.
Upon arrival at the home located on South Shingle Road, deputies found 47-year-old Charles Bigby on the room of the home at 3:15 a.m. doing construction work. The man told deputies there were no issues at the house, and no dispute.
When the deputies contacted the other residents in the house, Birdie Bigby, 72 and Harold Bigby, 75, they learned that there had indeed been a family disturbance. After interviewing all involved family members and examining the evidence present at the scene, deputies arrested Charles for felony criminal threats, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. He was arrested without incident and book into County Jail in Placerville where he remains Saturday evening with a bail of $365,000.
