DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - This past fall the Douglas County Commissioners approved a new Vacation Home Rental (VHR) ordinance with a promise to continue to modify as needed as they balance the rights of the property owner with the rights of those living in the neighborhoods around them.
They appointed a VHR Task Force to operate as an advisory group that will meet, discuss and offer recommendations to the County Manager on the permitting, management and/or limitation of vacation home rentals.
The first meeting of the task force was held on April 15 and they reviewed the history of vacation home rentals and established the framework for their activities moving forward.
A webpage with taskforce meeting materials, background information, timeline and important documents pertaining to the VHRTF has been created on the Douglas County website and can be viewed at: https://www.douglascountynv.gov/cms/one.aspx?portalId=12493103&pageId=15523358
