SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe Association of Realtors (STAOR) have invited the public to learn about radon, something that is prevalent in the Lake Tahoe basin due to the high amount of granite in the area. On Wednesday, April 26 from noon to 1:00 p.m., join STAOR in their board room at 2307 James Avenue and listen to a presentation by Jim Gorman of Tahoe Radon.
Jim is a licensed contractor and is certified by the National Radon Proficiency program. He will cover the potential risks this radioactive gas has and how to mitigate them through a safe environment.
Many Lake Tahoe homes have high levels of radon gas. After cigarette smoking, it is the second leading cause of lung cancer. In a recent Barton Health survey they showed South Lake Tahoe has a lung cancer rate 9.4 percent higher than the rest of California.
A professional radon mitigation system can help save lives in the community. Bring your bag lunch to the presentation and learn this important topic.
For question or directions, call the STAOR at 530.541.7007.
