Couple arrested after man stabbed during domestic dispute

Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies were called out to the Sunridge area of Douglas County on Monday night at 5:55 p.m., and once there found a man who had been stabbed in the hand.
Jacob Bernard, 26, was combative with East For Fire personnel and DCSO deputies as they attempted to render aide. Bernard was also uncooperative, and during the investigation, kicked a deputy. The deputy was not injured.
Deputies determined that Bernard was stabbed by his girlfriend, 24-year-old Ashley Minugh of Gardnerville. She was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery. Her bail has been set at $28,000.
Bernard was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and subsequently arrested for battery on a peace officer. His bail is set at $25,000.
The investigation of the May 9 incident is ongoing.
