Gaming in Nevada is about to see some changes. And casino owners hope that will bring a whole new generation of gamers. Video Gamers.
The Nevada Legislature has approved a bill that will allow the industry to adapt. They plan to add in games that are skill-based. Meaning that your skills can improve your odds of winning. And they think that will be a winner overall.
Chris Moyer is with the American Gaming Association in Washington, D.C.
"It's a move for the industry to attract a younger consumer who is more accustomed to video games," Moyer says. "It's a forward looking bill and it's a measure that's going to help the industry innovate and reach a key consumer who wants games just not the games we have."
So what will that look like? Local officials like Rob Mouchou, Senior Vice President of Gaming for the Eldorado properties says it could look a lot like popular games in social media, like Candy Crush and Angry Birds, and it could look like games we have with a skill-based twist.
