SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.- At the end of Clean Tahoe's field crew supervisor Jeff Pollitt's shift Wednesday he came across a trailer that had come loose from a truck and almost tumbled into Lake Tahoe.
Luckily, the trees stopped it from going all the way into the water. A broken fence and debris were left behind.
Pollitt said the driver of the truck carrying the trailer did not stop.
This took place near the bike path at the intersection of Rufus Allen and Lake Tahoe Boulevards. Police and a tow truck were called. The tow truck was able to pull up the trailer but the contents were left behind and Clean Tahoe spent Thursday morning cleaning it up.
According to SLTPD Lt. Shannon Lanney, the trailer belonged to a 2018 South Lake Tahoe murder victim. His son had been trying to clean out his father's belongings.
