Working-class country singer Gretchen Wilson at MontBleu Theater Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
May 31, 2013 - 9:00pm

Country music's "Redneck Woman," Grammy-Award winner Gretchen Wilson will kick up the dust and swing into overdrive, Friday, May 31 at Lake Tahoe's MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa.

The hard-singing country music star has charted 13 times including the Grammy Award-winning single "Redneck Woman." Wilson's anthems are as real as her album titles imply; most noteworthy being "Here to Party," "Work Hard, Play Harder," "All Jacked Up," "One for the Boys" and "I've got Your Country Right Here."

She's sold more than 8 million records worldwide. Her latest album, "Right on Time and Under the Covers" was released in April with critical acclaim. Her MontBleu performance begins at 9 p.m. with tickets at $45 to $55 available through Ticketmaster.com or the MontBleu Box office, 888-829-7630.

Wilson went overnight from talented obscurity to phenomenon. Her meteoric rise, the kind experienced by only a handful of country artists, was that rare instance where talent and moment collided at the right time. Wilson's ability to inhabit her working class country woman persona publicly, as well as her flair for tailoring songs as rough-edged as she is, puts her in the "I am what I sing" category.
