The Nevada Division of State Parks has not established a new state park in over 20 years, but now the organization is set to unveil a pair of new state parks, the Ice Age Fossils State Park and the Walker River State Recreation Area.
Ice Age Fossils State Park is located in North Las Vegas Valley near the Floyd Lamb County Park.
The Walker River Recreation Area, located in Mineral and Lyon counties will incorporate 29 scenic miles of the East Walker River in Western Nevada and is made up of four former ranches, the Pitchfork, Rafter 7, Flying M and the Nine Mile Ranch properties.
