Election Results for State of California

The statewide results for Tuesday's primary election as of 11 p.m. with 49.1% of the precincts counted:
Governor Jerry Brown has 55.2% of the Democratic vote. His opponent in the fall with most likely be either Neel Kashkari and Tim Donnelly who are running neck and neck for Republicans.
Lieutenant Governor Democrat Gavin Newsom has earned 50.2% of the vote so far, with the closest challenger being Ron Nehring with 23% of the Republican vote.
It appears Democrat Alex Padilla (D) will meet Pete Peterson (R) in November. Padilla and Peterson are tied at this point with 29.5% of the vote each.
Controller is too close to tell at this time. The top 4 are John Perez (D), Betty Yee (D), David Evans (R) and Ashley Swearengin (R), each with over 20% of the vote.
Treasurer: John Chiang (D) 55.3%, Greg Conlon (R) 38.2%.
Incumbent Kamala Harris (D) has 53.2% with the next highest candidate being Ronald Gold (R) with 12.9% of the vote.
Insurance Commissioner: Dave Jones (D) 53.5%, Ted Gaines (R) 41.3%
Superintendent of Public Instruction: Tom Torlakson 48.4%, Marshall Tuck 27.6%.
