SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A 12-year-old girl was transported to the hospital Sunday after the Lime scooter she was riding collided with a vehicle in South Lake Tahoe.
Just after 2:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the McDonald's just east of Ski Run Boulevard after the girl, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The driver stopped and is being cooperative according to SLTPD Sgt. Doug Sentell.
The collision is under investigation and no other information is available.
Even though the law allows riders 16 and older as long as they are licensed, Lime does not allow operation of their scooters by anyone under the age of 18 and all riders must have driver's licenses. State law requires helmets on riders under 18.
Sentell said no citations were issued in this incident.
