Douglas County roadwork set to begin on Jacks Valley Road

Jacks Valley Road along the base of the Sierra will be reconstructed starting Monday, June 12.

Q&D Construction, Inc won the contract and began pre-work last week with lowering utilities and mobilizing all the needed equipment.

The project will involve roadway and driveway work from Genoa Lane north to Alpine View Court. On Monday, grinding and pulverizing of the existing surface will start in the Town of Genoa and proceed north. The entire roadway will be repaved during the final construction stages.

The project is expected to be finished at the end of August.

For the safety of the public, workers, vehicles, please adhere to the traffic control personnel and posted signs. During various stages of construction flaggers and pilot cars will be used to maintain safe traffic flows. Driveway access will be maintained throughout construction, although there is a potential for traffic delays during asphalt removal and paving operations at side streets, driveways and the pilot car flagging locations.
