Submitted by paula on Wed, 06/18/2014 - 11:19pm
Throughout June and July, adults and children with Medi-Cal will be able to see a dentist locally in South Lake Tahoe. Tooth Travelers, a Mobile Dental Clinic, is available by appointment Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. behind the Barton Community Health Center at 2201 South Avenue, South Lake Tahoe. Credit card and cash payments are welcomed for families without insurance.
The American Dental Association recommends children start having dental exams by their first birthday and are required for children in Lake Tahoe Unified School District before entering 1st grade. Preventative care, including an annual exam and cleaning, is important for adults and children to avoid more extensive and costly care in the future.
Tooth Travelers is the only provider in the South Lake Tahoe area who accepts Medi-Cal for dental services. No referral is needed and all forms can be completed at the time of service. For questions or to make an appointment, please call Tooth Travelers at (530) 626-8626 or visit their website at www.toothtravelers.org.
