A 24-year-old woman from Folsom, CA was found on the side of Highway 89 near Tallac Creek Friday evening after bailing from the car of her boyfriend.
A concerned passerby saw the woman, who was bleeding, and called authorities. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) responded at 9:09 p.m.
When they arrived the unidentified woman said her boyfriend locked her in a closet in Folsom. He then forced her into a car and they drove to South Lake Tahoe. While they were driving on Highway 89, the couple had an argument and the boyfriend starting hitting the woman according to EDSO Sgt. Michael Seligsoh. She tried to jump out of the car as it was moving but the boyfriend pulled over where she jumped out.
After speaking to officers, the victim didn't know if the car was still moving when she got out but had bloody knees when they arrived. She refused medical attention as well as a ride to safety and walked away from the scene.
EDSO contacted both Folsom and Sacramento authorities. There is a BOLO on the man (Be on the Lookout) but he has not been located.
