4th of July activities in South Lake Tahoe and around the lake

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Summer is moving right along, and the 4th of July holiday week is already upon us. There are may activities to celebrate the 248th birthday of the United States for both locals and visitors to Lake Tahoe to enjoy.
Tuesday, July 2
North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District hosts a Flag Raising with Incline High’s ROTC and a pancake breakfast. 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. at fire station 875 Tanager St. Incline Village, Nev.
The Lake Tahoe Historial Society hosts Tahoe History Talks on the Beach each Tuesday through August 13. This week it is the local favorites Borges Brothers as they share stories about their family's history at Lake Tahoe. 6:30 p.m. at Lakeview Commons, South Lake Tahoe. Free.
Incline Village Summerfest 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at UNR, Tahoe campus. Tickets and information can be found HERE.
Wednesday, July 3
The City of South Lake Tahoe is hosting a static airshow at the Lake Tahoe Airport from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. An impressive lineup of military aircraft will include Pave Hawk helicopters and a C130 Hercules transport aircraft. Plus, there will be tasty offerings from Sombreros Mexican Restaurant along with other family-friendly activities. Free.

Thursday, July 4
Annual 4th of July parade starting at 9 a.m. in South Lake Tahoe. This year’s theme is “Stars and Stripes for Service” to celebrate the dedication and spirit of our community’s volunteers. Enjoy a festive display of floats, performances, and patriotic pride as those who selflessly serve our community are honored. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and head west from Ski Run Blvd. to Al Tahoe Blvd. along Hwy 50, travel up Al Tahoe Blvd., and conclude at Bijou Community Park. Road closures will be in effect on the day of the parade beginning at 7 a.m. and will last throughout the entire parade. Expect roads to fully reopen by noon. Best viewing is along the westbound lanes.
Incline Village: IVCB Veterans Club Pancake Breakfast - 8am-12pm and Hyatt Free BBQ at Incline Beach - 11am-3pm.
Inaugural 4th of July Airshow over the Lake at noon in South Lake Tahoe. The 129th Rescue Wing will showcase a spectacular rescue demonstration featuring Pave Hawk helicopters, pararescue team, and more. Don't miss this thrilling display of aerial skill and precision! The airshow will take place 1000 feet off Lakeview Commons beach. Swimming or boating will not be permitted in the area until after 1 p.m.
Community BBQ at the American Legion in South Lake Tahoe from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Some of the Veterans will be in the parade, then heading to the Legion afterward. For just $10, the lunch will include a hamburger, cheeseburger, or veggie burger along with baked beans, potato salad, a bag of chips, and a drink (soft drink or water). GREAT deal and will help support our local Veterans.
Lights on the Lake on Tahoe's South Shore is regularly listed as one of America's can't-miss pyrotechnic displays. The show is from 9:45 p.m. to 10:05 p.m. and broadcast to synchronized music on 93.9FM KRLT.`

Fireworks are back for Incline Village and Crystal Bay on Tahoe's North Shore after a five-year hiatus. For details, visit rwtb.fun.
Tahoe City celebrates the 4th from noon to 10 p.m. with a Drone Show finishing up the day at 9:30 p.m. There will be 300 drones used in the show that can be seen from the shores of Tahoe City. Musical accompaniment broadcast on 101.5 FM. The launch site is Tahoe Marina Lakefront. American Legion in South Lake Tahoe will have a DJ and live music with Trout Daddy from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $15.
