SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A collision in the intersection of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Lodi Avenue in South Lake Tahoe Saturday evening sent one police officer to the hospital.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on July 6, emergency dispatch received a call from that officer to alert them he had just been in a collision.
Since the incident involves one of their officers, South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) has turned the investigation over to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
From what SLTPD could confirm is two cars collided in the intersection. The officer was transported with complaints of pain to his back while the other driver declined medical attention. SLTPD Sgt Jason Cheney said she was shaken up.
CHP will be reviewing film from the officer's car and intersection camera to see what occurred.
There will be updates to this story once the investigation is complete.
