San Jose father of three identified as man who died in Lake Tahoe near Bonsai Rock

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - Tragedy has struck a Bay Area family after Francisco "Cisco" Villa Madrigal, 39, has been identified as the man who died near Bonsai Rock in Lake Tahoe on Sunday, August 18. The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identity of Cisco and the cause and manner of death is under investigation though no foul play is suspected.

Cisco's family has set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help with expenses.

"We will miss our beloved father, partner, son, brother, cousin and friend," said fundraiser organizer Maria Wright who has a goal of $40,000. As of Monday afternoon, almost $18,500 had been raised.

"He was a loving and dedicated father to his three beautiful girls," said Wright on GoFundMe. "A shattering tragedy in their tender young lives. A devastating loss to all the family and friends."
