SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With the Caldor Fire looming to the west of us, the Dixie Fire to the north, and the recent Tamarack Fire to the south, its time to prepare should such an event come into the Lake Tahoe Basin.
The City of South Lake Tahoe has initiated its Emergency Operations Center and is providing the public with video updates each morning and evening. They can been seen on its Facebook page and website.
As Calfire says on its Ready For Wildfire website, its key to "Plan, Know, Act" to remain safe. The banner on top of the page says it all, Wildfire is coming, are you ready?
Be Informed
The first thing everyone should do right now is to sign up for emergency alerts on their cellphone, landline and via email. Even those not living in Lake Tahoe can sign up and add their temporary or second home information.
