Two sisters who traveled from South Lake Tahoe to attend the Symbiosis eclipse festival in Oregon have not been heard from since Sunday, according to the Crook County Sheriff's Office.

Melissa Lea, 18, and her younger sister went on the road trip in the family's black Toyota SUV Sequoia. Their parents filed a missing person's report in South Lake Tahoe and alerted law enforcement in Crook County, asking for a welfare check as they were concerned they hadn't heard from the pair since August 20. Deputies have determined Melissa used her debit card at Symbiosis on Tuesday.

Lea graduated from South Tahoe High in June where she was a cheerleader and dancer.

More than 30,000 people had been expected to attend the festival at Big Summit Prairie in the middle of the Ochoco National Forest. The festival was wrapping up Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the sisters’ whereabouts is asked to call the Crook County Sheriff’s Office at 541-447-6398.
