Unhealthy Air in South Lake Tahoe Triggers Outdoor Restrictions at Local Schools
Submitted by paula on Mon, 08/26/2013 - 11:05am
The Lake Tahoe Unified School District has issued restrictions to outdoor activities due to the unhealthy condition of the air in South Lake Tahoe due to the Rim Fire.
All recesses will be conducted indoors and all afternoon sports practices will be restricted. These conditions will be lifted should air quality improve during the day.
They will be using the Particulate Monitor on Sandy Way in South Lake Tahoe and the AQI calculator during the first week of school to determine what will be held outdoors.
