DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Video footage found on Facebook of a fight at a Gardnerville Ranchos home has led to the arrest two juveniles on charges of battery, affray (an instance of fighting in a public place that disturbs the peace), and destruction of property.
On September 3, 2019, at 3:15 p.m., deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) were dispatched to the area of Wagon Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos area of Douglas County for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered one of the involved subjects had what they called "obvious injuries."
Upon investigation, DCSO determined all involved persons were juveniles.
They located video footage of the incident on Facebook that revealed the actions of the involved parties.
An official statement from DSCO:
We can assure you the safety of our children in Douglas County and at Douglas County Schools is something we take very seriously and this incident is currently under further investigation at this time. We are aware of the video footage of this incident circulating on social media and we ask that you allow the Sheriff’s Office time to continue to work through the investigation. Due to the fact that most, if not all, players in this case are juveniles, we cannot release any more information at this time, but we are confident the work done by our deputies involving this investigation was done with the utmost integrity. We will continue to work in collaboration with the school district and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
