Woman arrested as suspect in Incline Village vehicle burglaries

Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Regional Crime Suppression Unit arrested Brandy Sosa on Tuesday. Over the past several weeks, patrol deputies took several vehicle burglary cases. Their investigation led them through neighborhoods where they garnered intelligence through interviews and obtaining surveillance videos.

On December 19, 2020, Jason Kaspian was found deceased due to a suspected overdose from an opioid-based substance in his Vista Grande Drive apartment. An investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) into Kaspian's death lead them to the person they believe sold him the controlled substance.

Support to meet the match was overwhelming, with the matching $100,000 coming from more than 135 businesses and people donating to the cause, including $25,000 from Vail Resorts.

I put my Christmas lights up over the 4th of July and for a short while started watching Christmas movies too to try and get that feel-good feeling happening. Okay, I also did it because I wanted to watch movies where no one was wearing a mask and hugging one another without fear of being exposed. The North Lake Tahoe resident was a contestant on Season 9 of The Bachelorette, vying for the love of Desiree Hartsock. While Diogo was on the show looking for love and to be a knight in shining armor, it wasn't to be with Desiree as he didn't make it past the first week.

El Dorado County down to 1,000 votes to count - Creegan and Friedrich new South Lake Tahoe councilmembers

At this time, 115,339 ballots have been counted of the possible 135,554 voters (85.09%).
Cristi Creegan and John Friedrich appear to be the next two South Lake Tahoe City councilmembers. They led the race since the first ballots were counted on election day and came out victorious in the field of ten candidates.

Here is a car with loads of utility, outstanding performance, great fuel economy, superb handling and good comfort for a sticker price not $22,380 with the boat ride from Swindon, Wiltshire, England, but $29,780. That’s right a price bump of about 30 percent for the Touring model.
South Lake Tahoe Hosted Rental Ordinance back to staff for revisions

After much discussion they decided to have staff clean up rules that could be potential loopholes for homeowners and/or tenants. This is the second time a first reading has been turned down for more fine tuning.
The following changes were added for Council to review October 20:
(1) Increase the required tenancy for a tenant to qualify as a hosted rental applicant from six months to two years;

On October 7, 2020, officers from South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) responded to the El Nido Motel on Lake Tahoe Boulevard after someone said they saw a man being assaulted by two other people.
The victim, a 37-year-old local man, was transported to Barton Hospital and later flown to Renown Hospital in Reno as a result of his injuries.

Man arrested after allegedly stealing vehicle in South Lake Tahoe, leading chase into Nevada
Submitted by paula on Mon, 09/21/2020 - 9:34amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A car being warmed up in the driveway of a Tahoe Sierra home in South Lake Tahoe was stolen at approximately 6:40 a.m. Monday, September 21, and the alleged thief led law enforcement on a chase that ended near Marla Bay in Nevada.
As soon as the call of the stolen car was dispatched, Officer Jason Nixon of the South Lake Tahoe Department (SLTPD) spotted the vehicle, a Lincoln Navigator, and started pursuit. He was joined by other officers and the chase went into Nevada and Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) joined in near Kahle Drive.

Boil water notice issued for Tahoe Keys homes after power failure at well

The power failure led to a loss of water pressure.
The Tahoe Keys Property Owner Association's (TKPOA) said they emailed and hand delivered notices to residents to advise them of the boil water order.

Watsonville cop arrested on suspicion of battery and damage charges in Stateline

Tyler Leroy Stephens, a new officer for the Watsonville department, is currently in the El Dorado County Jail awaiting extradition to Douglas County on counts that include battery and destruction of property.

On August 14 at approximately 10:06 p.m., several calls were made to 911 about the stabbing on Tallac Avenue near the intersection with Lake Tahoe Boulevard. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) responded and found the victim stabbed multiple times.

COVID-19 testing at Lake Tahoe Community College through July
Submitted by paula on Thu, 07/02/2020 - 6:08pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - COVID-19 testing will continue in the Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Physical Education building through the end of July, at a minimum.
The LTCC virus testing site is the only large scale site in El Dorado County after the site at Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs closed. There has since opened a testing site in El Dorado Hills.
The decision to continue using the facility as a testing site will be made on a month-to-month basis going forward.
Investigation leads to return of custom bar top to brewery in South Lake Tahoe

On June 30, 2020, deputies from El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) got an LPR (License Plate Reader) hit on a truck in Meyers.
The truck was traveling west on US50 and deputies found the truck near Ice House Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver turned onto a rocky dirt road, stopped by the American River and took off on foot.
