There are eight people vying for the four open positions on the Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District (TPRID) Board of Directors, and the public will be able to watch them in action during a candidate's forum on Thursday.
TPRID, formed in 1965, governs Lake Baron and the surrounding park in the Tahoe Paradise neighborhood of Meyers.
Of the four open seats, two are for two year terms and the others are for four year terms. The remaining seat belongs to the El Dorado County Supervisor from Area 5, Sue Novasel. Registered voters residing in the district are the only ones allowed to vote in the November 3, 2015 special election.
On Thursday, October 1, 2015, the eight candidates will speak during the forum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Prior to the start of the forum the current Board of Directors will hold a special meeting with a few agenda items. That will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Board Meeting and Forum will be held at the park's clubhouse on the shores of Lake Tahoe, 1011 San Bernardino Avenue in Meyers.
