One stabbed, one arrested for attempted murder after fight in Gardnerville liquor store

MINDEN, NEVADA – Two men were involved in a fight at the Ranchos Liquor Store in Gardnerville Friday night, resulting in one transported by air ambulance to Reno, the other arrested and jailed on multiple charges.
At 5:44 p.m., deputies from Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded along with paramedics and found an unidentified 50-year-old man suffering from a knife wound to the chest. He was transported to Renown Medical Center.
Washoe Tribal Police located the second party, 51-year-old David James of Gardnerville, in their jurisdiction. He had a laceration to his hand and was taken by ambulance to Renown for treatment.
After an investigation, deputies determined James was the responsible party and arrested him on charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and burglary. His bail has been set at $150,000 and he is currently housed in the Douglas County Jail in Minden.
