Power restored to Spring Creek area after Emerald Fire - expect more outages

Liberty Utilities restored power yesterday to the 131 Spring Creek residents in South Lake Tahoe who had been without power since the October 14 Emerald Fire. The utility company had originally thought they wouldn't be able to get the power back on until November 4.
Crews were able to get it up sooner due to cooperative weather but they will need to take the power down (de-energize the line) for two more days to complete the repairs next week. Most likely these two days will be Wednesday and Thursday, November 2 and 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting since a helicopter will be used.
A dedicated phone line has been established to keep the Spring Creek customers apprised of the situation. It is 1-530-546-1765.
Here is their latest message:
Thank you for calling Liberty Utilities’ dedicated line for our Spring Creek customers. This updated message was recorded on Friday, October 28th. As you know, we were able to restore power to your area on Thursday morning, Oct. 27th. We did this in anticipation of the incoming storms, knowing that we would need to de-energize the line again to complete the repairs. We have tentatively scheduled the necessary outages for Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, Nov. 3 from 8 am to 5 pm each day. Of course, this schedule is dependent upon weather conditions as we will be using a helicopter in our repairs. If anything changes, we will update this message. Thank you for your patience as we continue to address the devastating effects of the Emerald Fire.
