There is another community opportunity to donate blood, this time at Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District's station at 193 Elks Point Road in Round Hill on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Save time and make an appointment ahead of time.

Blood facts:

While you're reading this, a local area patient needs blood.

Blood is needed every two seconds.

About one in seven people entering a hospital needs blood.

Blood is always needed for treatment of accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs and surgery patients.

Blood cannot be manufactured or harvested.

Only 37 percent of our country's population is eligible to give blood, and less than 10 percent donate annually.
