In support of local men battling prostate cancer, staff from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office get to put away their facial razors in support of "No Shave November." Sheriff Chuck Allen said all employees can grow facial hair outside the normal standards for the whole month, all for a $20 donation to the Renown Health Foundation.
Women on staff can still participate. For a donation, they can wear adhesive mustaches.
Those living in, or passing through Incline Village at Lake Tahoe, or other parts of Washoe County should be prepared to see a great deal more facial hair on the faces of Deputies and other staff members during the next month.
“The response has been enormous and the enthusiasm is overwhelming,” Sheriff Allen said. “I’m proud to say that staff has already raised over three thousand dollars to support the Renown Health Foundation in their mission.”
At the end of November, all proceeds will be donated to the Renown Health Foundation, who will use the funds to provide financial assistance to men who are currently being treated for prostate cancer.
