Controlled burn at Lake Tahoe, fire in El Dorado County cause for smoke Monday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A large controlled burn on Lake Tahoe's West Shore Monday drew some concern as it sent smoke throughout the Basin.
Just west of Lake Tahoe is a fire in the Hell Hole area on USFS land. It is a new fire as of 4:00 p.m. and no data is available at this time.
Burning of 35 acres at Sugar Pine, 65 acres at D.L. Bliss State Park, 19 acres on the North Shore at Burton Creek State Park and one acre at Rubicon Way are all scheduled for last week and this week.
